The Queen v. K.(M.) 2015
Client drove his vehicle hard into a tree. His passenger was seriously injured. The police arrived at the scene and one thing led to another and the client eventually blew well over the legal limit at the police detachment. Client was charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm. On the day of trial the Crown accepted a plea to driving without due care and attention contrary to the Motor Vehicle Act and dropped the criminal charges. Client received a fine and was put on probation for a year that permitted him to keep driving for work related reasons.
